🔆首先来看showcase
1. N-COUNT A showcase is a glass container with valuable objects inside it, for example, at an exhibition or in a museum. ✨玻璃陈列柜
2. N-COUNT You use showcase to refer to a situation or setting in which something is displayed or presented to its best advantage. ✨展示场合 
例：The festival remains a valuable showcase for new talent.

不完全爆破，先复习一下，失去爆破

复习：失去爆破−−发音当一个爆破音后面紧跟着另一个爆破音时，前面的爆破音不发生爆破。方法是：对于前一个爆破音，只作发音的姿势，刚要发出时，立即发出第二个爆破音。这种现象叫做失去爆破。

学习：不完全爆破−−当一个爆破音后面紧跟着一个摩擦音、破擦音、鼻辅音或舌边音时，前面的爆破音只作部分爆破。方法是：对于前一个爆破音，作好发音的姿势，刚发出时，立即过渡到第二个摩擦音或破擦音上去。
第一个爆破音发出的声音是非常轻微的，有时甚至听不出来。这种现象叫做不完全爆破 。

🔆Wash up的意思大家可能知道，是清洗的意思。可是，🍬washed up并不是清洗，而是指✨彻底完蛋，没用。
wash up[美国英语]✨洗脸洗手：
Washing up before dinner is a good habit.
饭前洗手是个好习惯。
[英国英语](饭后)✨洗餐具：
The girl helps her mother to wash up after dinner everyday.
女孩每天晚饭后帮妈妈洗餐具。
washed up[美国俚语]✨不再是演员、竞技者、工人等：

🔆give up on sb. 介词搭配
If you give up on something or someone, you decide that you will never succeed in doing what you want to with them, and you stop trying. ✨对…表示绝望
He urged them not to give up on peace efforts.
他力劝他们不要对和平努力绝望。
We shouldn't give up on trying to find a diplomatic solution. 
🎈give up对事情✨放弃，give up on sb，对人放弃（强烈的失望），give up on 有对....失望，绝望之意，而give up则没有这层含义。
另外，give up有动作倾向，give up on更倾向状态。give sb./sth. out
